We Buy It All

What We Accept

We buy used pallets of virtually every type, size, and condition. Here is what we are looking for.

Standard Wood Pallets

Any condition

GMA 48x40 and other standard sizes in any condition. These are our highest-demand items.

Custom-Size Pallets

Good to fair

Non-standard dimensions, odd sizes, and specialty pallets. We find buyers for sizes others cannot sell.

Damaged Pallets

Any condition

Broken boards, split stringers, missing blocks — we accept them all. Damaged pallets are repaired or recycled into raw materials.

Plastic Pallets

Any condition

Used plastic pallets in any condition. We buy, refurbish, and resell plastic pallets or recycle the material.

Surplus Inventory

Bulk quantities

Closing a warehouse? Downsizing? Switching pallet types? We buy bulk surplus at competitive rates. One call clears your dock.

Heat-Treated Pallets

Good to like-new

ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets retain higher value even when used. We pay premium prices for HT-stamped pallets.

Transparent Pricing

What Determines Your Pallet's Value?

We believe in total transparency. Here are the factors that determine how much we pay for your used pallets. The better you understand these factors, the better you can prepare your pallets for maximum value.

Pro Tip: Maximize Your Payout

  • -Sort pallets by size and condition before pickup
  • -Stack pallets neatly for faster loading
  • -Remove any debris, nails, or strapping
  • -Keep pallets dry and off the ground
01

Condition

Better condition pallets command higher prices. Grade A pallets are worth significantly more than damaged ones.

02

Size

Standard GMA 48x40 pallets are in highest demand. Standard sizes generally bring better prices than custom dimensions.

03

Quantity

Larger quantities earn better per-unit prices. We offer premium rates for truckload quantities (400+ pallets).

04

Material

Hardwood pallets are typically worth more than softwood. Heat-treated pallets command a premium.

05

Location

Pickup within the Raleigh-Durham metro area is free for qualifying quantities. Locations further out may have transport fees.

06

Market Demand

Pallet prices fluctuate with supply and demand. We always offer fair market value based on current conditions.

Free Pickup

We Come to You

For qualifying quantities (typically 50+ pallets), we provide free pickup across the Raleigh-Durham metro area. Our trucks and crew handle all the loading. You do not need to prepare anything except having the pallets accessible.

For smaller quantities, we offer affordable pickup rates or you can drop off at our facility during business hours.

What We Cannot Accept

While we buy used pallets in virtually any condition, there are a few types of pallets we cannot accept due to safety, regulatory, and environmental concerns. Knowing this upfront saves both of us time.

Chemically contaminated pallets

Pallets that have been exposed to hazardous chemicals, pesticides, or toxic substances cannot be safely recycled or resold.

Pallets with asbestos exposure

Any pallets that have been in contact with asbestos-containing materials are a health hazard and must be disposed of through specialized channels.

Pallets treated with methyl bromide

Methyl bromide (MB) treated pallets are banned under ISPM-15 regulations and cannot be repaired, resold, or recycled safely.

Pallets with visible mold throughout

Pallets with deep, pervasive mold throughout the wood structure are a health risk. Surface mold on otherwise sound pallets is acceptable.

We Do Accept

Everything Else

Outside of the few exceptions listed, we accept used pallets in every condition. Here is a sampling of what we regularly buy, and all of these are welcome.

Pallets with broken, cracked, or missing boards
Pallets with surface staining and discoloration
Pallets with labels, stamps, or paint markings
Pallets that have been repaired previously
Non-standard sizes and custom dimensions
Plastic pallets in any condition

Seller Success Story
“We had about 400 used pallets stacked up behind our warehouse that we were going to pay someone to haul away. On a whim, I called Raleigh EcoPallet. They came out the next day, assessed everything on site, and wrote us a check for over $600. It turned a disposal expense into revenue. Now they come every two weeks to pick up our empties. It is the easiest money we make.”

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Selling Pallets

There is no minimum. We accept as few as one pallet at our facility. For pickup service, we recommend at least 20 pallets to make it worthwhile, though free pickup starts at 50 pallets within the Raleigh-Durham metro area. Even if you only have a handful, you are welcome to drop them off at our facility any business day.

Several things maximize your payout. First, sort your pallets by size and condition before our assessment — this speeds up the process and shows us the quality upfront. Second, keep pallets dry and off the ground to prevent moisture damage and mold. Third, remove any debris, strapping, or shrink wrap. Fourth, sell in larger batches rather than small quantities over time. Finally, standard GMA 48x40 pallets in good condition earn the best prices, so separate those from odd sizes.

Yes. Paint and labels do not affect our ability to buy your pallets, though heavily painted pallets may be downgraded to a lower category since they require more processing. Labels are normal and expected. Pallets with company logos or markings are perfectly fine — we remove or sand over markings during our reconditioning process.

Absolutely. Many of our clients generate used pallets on a regular schedule. We set up recurring pickup routes — weekly, biweekly, or monthly — where our truck comes to your location, loads your empty pallets, and either pays on the spot or credits your account. This is the most convenient option for businesses that receive goods on pallets and accumulate empties consistently.

When you sell your pallets to us, we pay you for them. We then inspect, grade, and resell the pallets that are in usable condition. When you recycle pallets with us, you are disposing of end-of-life pallets that cannot be resold. In many cases, we can do both in the same trip — buying your good-condition pallets and recycling the ones that are beyond repair. Either way, nothing goes to a landfill.

Your Used Pallets Have Value

Stop paying to throw away pallets. Whether you have 10 or 10,000, we will buy them. Get a free assessment today.
